Won't you take me to...Tinsel Town!

Hiya folks!  I tell you what, it has been way too long.  I haven't painted my nails like I love to in several months.  Exciting things have been going on in my life and my husband has been pushing me to actually get work done in our house.  I'll have a few photos by the end of the coming week of before and afters.

Anyhow.  I finally had the drive to put polish on my nails.  It is either summer or winter here in Houston so I went with a winter-inspired look.

The two colors I used are Chanel Blue Rebel and China Glaze's lovely winter color, Tinsel Town!

One coat of Blue Rebel with one coat of Tinsel Town.
I used snowflakes from Dashica Beauty plate #SdP-A18.  I purchased this a very long time ago and I've noticed her plates are now rectangular.  She has a lot to choose from, and I originally looked into these plates because of the many different Sanrio characters she has.

You can see Blue Rebel coming through on this indoor photograph with flash

I will be back soon.  Have a beautiful weekend!

OPI DS Glamour | Konad Bows and Silver Shatter!!

Yay for stampys!!  Eric noticed I didn't do any stamping nail art for the past few months, and when he noticed I realized I was getting a little fuddy duddy.  So I decided to bust out his favorite color OPI DS Glamour with the center image from plate M56:

Lot of Holo goodness!  This is the second Glamour I purchased during a panic of having only 1/8th of a bottle left, and I've gone through 1/3rd of this bottle.  Good thing I have two more backups.  I hope they last!!
I used Konad's special polish in white for the bows and silver crackle on my ring finger just for more glitz and glamour.

Tell me, has it been a while since you've done stampy designs as well?

Magnetic polishes from Nailart-und-mehr.de

I was researching the new nail art stampers (the ones that do not need a scraper and separate stamp) when I came across this site:

Nailart & Mehr

I recognized it because I saw someone mention it in a comment on someone's blog. I can't remember, but if some one knows who it was please let me know. I want to give you a ginormous thank you!!

I went to this company's website and the first thing I saw was...Magnet.

No friggin way, yes way. I ordered four magnetic polishes the star magnet and striped one as well as the stand. I'm sure I would touch the polish without it.

Check out what I just got in today!!

They sent a cute little bear nail charm!!

This looked like a glue type product which you can use with stamping products and them apply foils to create cute foil designs! I'll have to review it. I've been photographing so many things with my camera from lipsticks to polishes, but can't get my photo library to not crash. I'll have to reinstall the software and finally get that going so you all don't have to look at camera phone images.

The two nail stampers I picked out:

The four magnificent magnetic polishes I picked out!!!!

Blue night: ml-06
This one is my favorite!! It is blue with a purple shimmer. Of course you can't tell in this photo.

The magnets:

My quick trial:

These were so easy to use and dried very quickly! The finish is somewhat rubbery looking, and if I had a topcoat they could look super glossy.

Pricing and shipping is high, but at least they were able to send them to me here in Texas!!

A++++

I'm going to be getting the rest of their colors. I'd been lemming the Essence Magnetic polishes, but I'm sure even if I had one of those, it couldn't beat these puppies. Really, these come in colors like blue, green, red, purple, pink and of course the charcoal color.

The magnetic polishes are on their website for €8.95 each, the bottom of the bottle shows €9.95, but I was only charged €7.46 each.

Will any of you splurge and try them out?

Let me know or if you already have some, I'd like to see your swatches!  You can leave your blog page below, and if I'm not following you let me know as I like to see what you all come up with!

Quick Bundle Monster Nail

I couldn't help but grab that set of plates a while back, and this was the only thing I have done with it.  I can't even remember how long ago I did this.

I do know I used OPI's DS Fantasy with Konad's Special Polish in White and Yellow.
The plate was well engraved and did not give me any trouble.  My poor butterfly had to be upside down on this hand.  I should have used the stamp transfer method.

If you are interested in an Essence Stampy Set? You may get what you pay for. :o(

I had an Essence Stampy set in my previous giveaway, and Mai at Makeup by Mai tried her set out, and did not have a fun experience.  :o(

She should be reviewing more of the items from the giveaway in the future, but you can see how funky her stampy set was here:

Essence Stampy Set Review

I just want you all to be aware.  If you are interested in nail stamping, but are worried about price, I would still recommend a small Konad set.  They may be pricier, but the quality of products can make a big difference.
